Customize Sunburst Chart in Helical Insight

In this blog, we will see how to customize sunburst chart like its color and tooltip using Open Source BI product Helical Insight.
There are Set Chart Color and Tooltip customization scripts that are unique for sunburst chart. In order to apply customization, go to “Customize” section of the report create or report edit page.

Double click on “Set Chart Color” icon. A modal window will open as shown.

You will see a dimension value or category already added by default. Select the colour to be applied to it by selecting from the colour picker.

In order to change colour for next part of the pie, click on “Add” button. Select the category or datapoint for which the colour is to be applied. Select the colour for it. Continue for all the categories that you want to change the colour for. Click on Ok.

For the categories for which colour is not specified explicitly, default colour pattern will be followed.
You will see the Set Chart Color icon is highlighted. Click on the small tick to apply the script.

The colours have been applied.

To change the tooltip, double click on Tooltip icon. A modal window will open as shown below:

You can use the toggle button to disable the display of Tooltip. Click on Ok.

The Actual Value script icon will be highlighted. Click on the small tick to apply the script.

The tooltip is hidden and not visible.

You can use the font family, font size, font colour and background colour of the tooltip heading and contents using the options given in the dropdown.

Click on Ok and apply the customization by clicking on the small tick. The tooltip has been changed accordingly.
