How to use Bullet Chart VF in Helical Insight

In this article you will learn how to integrate Bullet Chart of D3 using VF option in Helical Insight and generate report.

Bullet charts are generally used to show data for Target, Achieved and Marker (Milestone).

Steps:

  1. Download this file.
  2. The unzipped folder, named “VF FILES”, is to be placed in the HI file repository.

The attached VF-File for Bullet chart makes use of five fields :

  • Two Dimensions (Text)
  • Three Measures (Numeric)

  1. First Text value will be used as “Title”.
  2. Second Text value will be used as “Subtitle”.
  3. First Numeric value will be used as “Target/Range”.
  4. Second Numeric Value will be used as “Achieved/Measure”.
  5. Third Numeric value will be used as “Milestone/Marker”.



Note:

  • In case of less than just 2 numeric values, Milestone and Achieved will display the same values and in tooltip “Milestone” will be shown as key “Marker” and the value same as that of “Achieved”.
  • In case of just 1 numeric value, all three values will be shown as same and will be for “Range”.

VF-Customizations:

Customizations such as font size, font type, chart colors, etc. for the chart can be added or overridden in the “Custom” -> “Styles” tab.
