Circle Packing Chart

In this article, we will be explaining about Circle Packing. Circle packing helps us to visualize the large amounts of hierarchically structured data. The main advantage of this circle packing diagram is the good overview of large data sets and the clear representation of groupings and structural relations.

Circle Packing is an arrangement of circles of equal size or different sizes so that no overlapping occurs and all the circles touch one another.

Size of each circle depends on the value. As many dimensions as possible can be represented. The size of each leaf node’s circle reveals a quantitative dimension of each data point. The enclosing circles show the size of each subnode.

You can connect to database, drag and drop the columns, add filter if required and visualize the data in circle packing chart inside browser. Further customization’s can be done by adding CSS, HTML and Javascripts. Customization could be things like the hover-over information, color, heading, background color, size etc.
