Custom Patches – Canned Report

After release Helical Insight 4.1 GA, there were many more functionalities which were expected by end customers on the canned reporting module for which custom patches were deployed.

In this blog we are going to cover about those custom patches and using them as well as what does that custom patch do.

1. Excel continuously

This patch will help to print the excel data continuously. Right now even in excel the data comes in a paginated format (the way it appears in PDF) but this patch will help in exporting the canned report in such a way that it appears in a continuous format.

2. Managed to groovy

This patch will help to support the regular data source for groovy data source plain

3. Excel margin and page break

This patch will help to print the excel data continuously and also use new sheet in excel. This patch will also has support for the margin

4. Speed up HCR File Browser

This patch will help to resolve the slowness in the file browser.

The patch will load the HCR (canned reports) file smoothly and the delay caused due to Parsing will be avoided.

Deployment steps :

  1. Download “com.zip” file and extract it
  2. Copy com folder into below server path 
    3. ….\hi\apache-tomcat-9\webapps\hi-ee\WEB-INF\classes
  3. Restart Helical Insight service

Once above steps are done, the relevant things will work fine
