The tabular report is the default view of the reports generated in Helical Insight. There are a number of customizations available for tabular report. They are:
- Column Banding
- Row Banding
- Table Color
- Heat Map
- Tooltip
- Adjust Column Width
- Table Format
- Table Header

Column Banding
Column banding is used for easy differentiation between adjacent columns. You can give different colours to even and odd columns for a banded effect. By default, no column banding is applied.
Double click on the column banding icon. The following modal window will appear.
Click on the toggle button to define custom colours for the odd and even bands as shown. Click on Ok.
The Column Banding icon will be highlighted. Click on the small tick to apply the customization.
Column banding has been applied with the custom columns defined.

Table Color Customization
If you want to define the colours that will be used for the table, you can use the table color customization script.
Double click on the table color customization icon. The following modal window will appear.
You can select one of the themes readily available. The selected color theme will be highlighted. There are 6 pre built themes which are present. Click on Ok.
The Table Color Customization icon will be highlighted. Click on the small tick to apply the customization.
The customization theme is applied.
You can define your own color themes for the table report. For this, click on the toggle button to go to Advanced mode. Select the colours for the Heading, Heading font color, Body and Body Font Color. Click on Ok.
Apply the customization by clicking on the small tick. The customization is applied.

Row Banding
Row Banding is applied in order to differentiate between consecutive rows. By default light grey and white row banding is applied for tabular reports. This can be changed by using the Row Banding script. Double click on the Row Banding icon to open the following modal window Click on the toggle button to define custom colors using the color picker for odd and even rows.
Click on Ok. The row banding icon will be highlighted. Click on the small tick to apply the customization. The customization is applied. -
Tooltip
Tooltip appears with the data of the cell when hovered upon. This is the default property of the table. You can customize the tooltip by using the tooltip script.
Double click on the tooltip icon to open the following modal window. Change the font color, background and size as required. Click on Ok.
The tooltip icon will be highlighted. Click on the small tick to apply the script.
The tooltip has been changed.

Adjust Column Width
In Helical Insight, the column width is adjusted automatically to fit the viewport. You can adjust the column width by using the Adjust Column Width script.
Double click on Adjust Column Width icon to open the modal window.
Set the width of the columns in pixels for each column on the tabular report as shown below. Click on Ok.
The Adjust Column Width icon is highlighted. Click on the small tick to apply the script.
The column width is changed as needed.

Table Format
The table format script is used to change the look and feel of the table. You can change the colour theme, apply row and column banding, change the font size and type as well as add prefixes and suffixes to numeric columns, define column value alignment etc. Double click on the table format icon to open the following modal window. In the Basic mode, you can change the overall font size and type. Also, you can change the look of the table by selecting from the numerous options available. Click on Ok and apply the customization by clicking on the small tick.
In order to have more granular control and define how each column should appear, click on the toggle button to go to Advanced mode. Here, for each column you can make the changes. Click on More button next to column name to change the properties of the column.
For text columns, you can change the font type, size, weight and alignment of the text.
For numeric columns, you can change the font weight, size, type and alignment of text. Apart from this, you can add prefix and suffix (like $, kg etc.). You have the option to display some value if the value of the cell is NULL and also add thousand separator.
You can add color, icons, databars as well depending on the values. Thos bars/colors/icons can come based on the average in that column or you can also specify a number basis which these will come.
Click on Ok after making the changes. The Table Format icon will be highlighted. Click on the small tick to apply the customization.
The customization is applied.

Table Header
To change the properties of the table header, you can use the table header script.
Double click on the table header icon to open the following modal window. You will see the column name and More button next to it. Click on the More button next to the column whose header you want to customize.
Change the font size, weight and alignment. Click on Ok.
The Table Header icon will be highlighted. Click on the small tick to apply the customization.
The respective changes are applied.

Disable Sorting / On Hover
The disable sorting/ on hover script can be used to disable the sorting icons that appear in the column header and to disable highlighting of row on hover.
Double click on the Disable icon to open the following modal window.
Click on the toggle button to disable sorting
Click on Ok. The disable button will be highlighted. Click on small tick to apply the customization.
The customization is applied. Users will not be able to sort the columns when viewing the report. You can see that option of sorting on hover is not appearing at the table headers now.
By default, when we hover on any row, you can see it is highlighted in blue. This can be disabled by using the disable script.
Double click on the disable icon to open the following modal window. Click on the toggle button next to On Hover and click on Ok.
Apply the customization by clicking on the small tick. The highlight on hover has been disabled.
