Map Customization in Helical Insight

In this blog, we will see how to customize the map report in Helical Insight using map customization script. First of all create the map.

In order to apply customization, click on “Customize ” button on report create or report edit page.

Double click on Map Customization icon to open the following modal window. You can change the image in the Marker Options to star. Click on Ok and apply the customization by clicking on the small tick.

Alternatively, you can apply heat map. For applying heatmap, select the column based on which the heatmap should be applied and select the colors to be used for low, medium and high values.

Click on Ok. Apply the customization by clicking on the small tick. Heatmap is applied.

Instead of using image for marker, you can also use icons. A set of icons is predefined in Helical Insight. You can define which column you want to use for Color, Size and Icon respectively. Click Ok

Apply the customization by clicking on the small tick. You can see different icons and colors of icons based on the columns selected in the customization script.

For further customization, click on pencil icon next to “For Icon” dropdown. Set the smallest and largest size of icon, stroke width and opacity.

Click Ok and apply the customization by clicking on the small tick. The size and opacity of icons has changed accordingly.

You can also further customize the color by clicking on pencil icon next to “For Color” dropdown. You can set the DOT color and Stroke color as required. Click on Ok and apply the customization by clicking on small tick.

Please note: “Reverse” checkbox can be used to reverse the gradients based on column value for color and to reverse the size based on value (greater value gets lesser size).
